Office Outfit: How About Her Shoes?

I rarely post outfit pictures because (1) they are always blurry, (2) my office outfits are rather boring, and (3) I hate pictures of myself. But today's outfit garnered amusing comments, so I'll share.

It's a very simple outfit - black cardigan, black tights, and October orange velvet skirt.

I feel incredibly awkward trying to pose for pictures. It helps if I can hold something. Conveniently, a dog was nearby. :D

Anyway... on to the story...
I was waiting in the checkout line at Walgreens pharmacy when two men walked by.
Man #1 said (flamboyantly): Ohmygod, I love everything about your outfit, from your hair to your skirt!
Me: Thank you.
Man #2 (pretending to admonish Man #1): How about her shoes? Ohmygod, you're so rude!
Man #1 (in mock seriousness): They're black. Like my soul.

      Thanks! They were adorable. The guy joked his soul is black... but I'm certain it's actually bright rainbow colors. And probably sparkly, too. :D

    You *do* look really cute! I actually just replied to a comment on my blog about my expression in my outfit posts. I never know what to do with my face which is why so many of them have that excited/surprised look. (:-D

      Thanks! I never know what to do with my hands or my face. I usually end up looking annoyed... which is not inaccurate because I'm annoyed with myself for being so awkward. ;)

    You should post these more often, they are so fun! What is that yellow dot near your collar? The guys obviously have no idea how hard it is to find a decent pair of mary janes. Rude indeed :D

      Thanks! I wish I could get more comfortable in front of a camera. The dot is a Halloween jack o'lantern pin.

      So true about the mary janes! It took forever to find these. They turned out to be very comfortable, so I went back and bought another pair to keep in reserve for when the first pair wear out.

    All my favorite colors in one look-- divine!

    Awkward is good, awkward is real =P
    I practice in front of a mirror before I take photos, then decide which one I'll attempt-- can never get my face to cooperate though... always think I am grinning when I'm not doing anything with my face at all...

      All awkward, all the time! How very appropriate that "awkward" is an awkward word to say and type! :)

      My face was NOT made for pictures. I try to look neutrally pleasant, and end up looking angry. So I smile... and end up looking deranged.

    I also feel silly posing for outfit photos and have trouble with my camera as I don't really know what I'm doing! I say post the photos anyway, I love seeing what other people are wearing.....love the bright velvet!!
