Trying to decide what color to paint the front door, which is currently white.
Of course, my first inclination is some shade of purple. Or perhaps a warmer berry color in contrast with the cool bluish grey of the house. Or an aqua or peacock blue.
Or maybe Front Door Jack.
Or Beetlejuice stripes. ;)
I like the raspberry the best, it looks quite lovely. I also fancy the stripes even if you're not serious about them lol, although I'd paint the stripes horizontally to contrast the lines of the house.
ReplyDeleteBlue looks very nice, other colours clash with cool hue of the house. But then again I'm crazy about blue in general :D
ReplyDeleteOr maybe dark gray? Your windows look dark gray, shadow of the roof is dark gray, your mailbox looks dark gray in this light, even the tree behind your house seems to match this gray palette :D
A red door would be pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteThe stripes are my favorite, but I know whatever you choose will be awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the peacock blue.
ReplyDeleteHow about a dark grey or blue with black bats? Like they are coming out of the house.
ReplyDeleteI love the purple one.
ReplyDeleteI like the dark grey with bats suggestion! Out of your own suggestions, I like raspberry most.
ReplyDeleteToday we had a consultation about a new door... my boyfriend and I can't agree and I want a green door!
Thank you all for your comments! I think I'll use the suggestions to create another set of photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party as always but I love the raspberry. Says the woman with a black front door!
ReplyDeleteI love that berry color.. so pretty! But the person who commented on the door that had bats on it that sounds like an amazing idea as well!

ReplyDeleteI like black but it needs to be so well prepared to get the best look. Deep gloss black is lovely but it shows up every imperfection. I would therefore go with a dark purple gloss, not quite so difficult to get right. But the Dark grey and bats sounds very appropriate and would tone in with the rest of the house. Are you going to do the garage door the same? I think they both need to match.
ReplyDeleteI'm reluctant to paint the garage door because it has a factory white paint which still looks good and is maintenance free. If I paint over it, I'll have to maintain the new paint job.
DeleteI like the garage door and front door to match. But the factory paint on the front door is starting to yellow and look awful. So now I have to decide what color to paint the front door and whether to paint the garage door to match.
It appears that throughout your house you have a cooler shade of purple, therefore my vote immediately goes there... though a berry purple looks great against the grey!
ReplyDeleteI like how the third option looks against the grey. First two are too contrasty to my eye.
ReplyDeletei say purple, but the stipes are interestingly cool, i will have purple for myself someday
