The Denver area experienced a spring blizzard last Wednesday. We got several inches of snow in just a few hours; about a foot total for the day.

I shoveled a little path across the back patio for the dogs. This was pretty hard work because the snow was wet and very heavy. (The branches on the pine tree are high enough for me to easily walk under, but the snow weighted them down almost to the ground.)

I was a little concerned about hurting my back shoveling my sidewalk and driveway, thus was very relieved when my neighbor was kind enough to clear them with his snowthrower. :D
Then I had a bout of hermitry for a few days. It happens occasionally... I close myself off and don't want to communicate with the outside world, even online. But it has passed and I'm back to my usual semi-social self. ;)
No snow where I am. But the winds been hitting hard.

DeleteWow, the dog's head is barely above the snow! It never snows this close to the coast, I doubt my small dog has ever seen snow!
ReplyDeleteMy previous dog first saw snow when she was about six years old. Her reaction was so funny! She hated that her nice grass had been turned into cold, wet stuff, and she looked at me like I needed to fix it immediately. :)
DeleteIt looks so pretty though! I'm expecting we'll get our usual spring blizzard here soon and even though the spouse is anxious to take my snow tires off, I'm not so sure it's a good idea. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty. :) As of about 10 minutes ago, we're once again getting sideways-blowing snow that seemed to come out of clear blue sky. Ah, spring. ;)

ReplyDeleteIndeed! I've seen a foot of snow pile up over the course of two or three days, but this all fell within about 18 hours.
