The Daily Done: June 2

On June 2, I completed another shoe project, this time on a pair of black flats that are starting to look a bit shabby.

Summer shoes are hard for me to find, so I wanted to get more use from this pair by disguising the worn spots.  I cut a piece of lace to go across across the instep, covering the elastic strap and the worn areas.  I attached the lace with a bit of super glue on each end.

Then I simply clipped two flowers (meant as a hair accessories) to each strap.


Worn shoes disguised with embellishments... Done!

    It's really cute! I'm planning to make some shoe clips to pimp up my old ballet flats. ^^

    Such a cute idea! :) Hair flowers are so much cheaper than shoe clips!!! Though, you can buy the clips and add your own embellishments. I'm so happy to see you blogging again, Bane. I missed you.

      Hair flowers are $1 or $2, but shoe clips are $10... what's up with that? I have some jewelry pieces that I'd like to turn into shoe clips.

      Me neither! I struggle to find shoes to fit my wide feet... which is why I want to get more use out of these.

    Great idea and something I would have never come up with! My creativity is focused more on body and head, I never did anything to shoes. You make it seem so easy, though!

      I've often switched out boot laces for ribbon, but I'd never done a shoe project. These shoes were just so sad looking... something had to be done. :)

      Thank you! The lace made a big difference. I should have put it on from the start to cover the unattractive elastic.

    They look fantastic!! I LOVE what you did, now I want to do that to MY flats. But they don't have that elastic band, so I'll just have to add one! :-)
