for a venting of frustration.
The plan was to be on hiatus until I had something good to post about, but I really need to vent today.
Why is my license plate mangled and sitting on the ground? Because someone knocked it off my car.
Someone who ran a stop sign and WHAM! into his car I crashed. I've long believed that too many people think STOP means Slightly Tap On Pedal. This idiot didn't even do that.
It could have been a lot worse. No one was hurt. My car wasn't heavily damaged. The collision was clearly his fault, and his insurance should pay to repair my car.
What I'm really angry about is that he ruined my perfect driving record. In 24 years of driving, I had never been in a collision. TWENTY-FOUR YEARS. That is a "never" I can never get back.
So sorry :(
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteOh Bane, I'm so sorry. At least you're ok. We have that problem here in NYC, too. It's very dangerous to even walk or cross streets.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteUgh. Glad you're alright but it's still a hassle (and time-consuming) to go through that.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. I'm already spending time talking to insurance companies, and I'm sure this is only the beginning. :/
DeleteI am so sorry to hear about that, thankfully you weren't injured
ReplyDelete:-( assholes like him should not be allowed to drive anymore, seriously... why not just stick to rules from time to time - sorry for you!
ReplyDeleteYeah... Rules of the road are in place for a reason.
DeleteThat sucks. Some people just need to stick to public transportation. But good to hear you're okay though.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteFirst, I'm SO glad you are okay, and that your car can be repaired, and that it was HIS fault and not yours.
ReplyDeleteSecond, while it is true that you can no longer say you have "never been in an accident", it's also true that because you were not at fault, you still have a perfect record of never causing/being at fault in an accident. And to me, THAT is the one to REALLY be proud of.
Thank you. Even though I was not at fault, I'm still disappointed that I was not able to prevent the collision. I should not have assumed he was going to stop at the stop sign. :P
DeleteIsn't it sad that we "should not" assume that people will make the right decision in a situation like that... :-(
DeleteI'm glad you're okay, Bane! I feel like these days, with all the crappy drivers around, it's less and less likely that we all won't be in some kind of accident eventually. :P
ReplyDeleteSo true! Sometimes I feel like I am the only driver who is actually paying attention to driving.
DeleteI'm so glad you weren't injured!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about losing your "never" - it has felt like there's a hole inside of me afterwards, even if it was a silly "never" (e.g. I'd never watched reality television until two years ago when I was over at a friend's house and her daughter had it on).
Thanks! I was very proud of my driving record; it was a disappointing "never" to lose.
DeleteThat is so mean and undeserved! Thank the powers that may be that noone was hurt and your damages will be paid for!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI am glad you were not injured! I bet his karma will be wonderful, falling off a cliff while being attacked by bats, something like that!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! He did at least admit fault, so that might help his karma a little. Maybe he'll just fall down a small hill. ;)
DeleteOuch! I'm glad that you are ok and that the car will be repaired. Is your no crash interruption affecting your insurance cost?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Fortunately, no. My insurance company assured me that my rates will not increase.
